Hi, Im Alan!

Im a freehand embroiderer who discovered his love for sewing whilst studying a Bachelors Degree in Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University. I then graduated a Masters Degree in Textile Design Innovation.

I had never touched a sewing machine before my BA and the first animal I embroidered was a rabbit and i’ve never looked back!

I have been sewing pet portraits since 2016 and each day I love it more and more. I enjoy capturing emotions and character by stitch, something I hope to be doing for a long time.

Over recent years I have appeared on BBC One’s ‘Make it at Market’ Which changed my life, from this I managed to feature on East Midlands Today, twice!

I am now based in my lovely studio in Banks Mill Studios in Derby, swing by any time to chat!

I started my business with support from the King’s Trust and I am now proudly a King’s Trust Ambassador. You’ll see me across the UK, giving talkings and even on marketing and campaigns. I’m so happy to give back to the Trust, they have helped me so much with my business.
